My Private Secrtary
Today, I will talk about the most important element in User Experience Design—– Persona. According to Cooper (1999), “persona refers to being fictitious characters, based on composite archetypes, and encapsulating ‘behavioral data’ gathered from ethnography and empirical analysis of actual users”. The persona as user experience design tool becomes more and more popular and the need for a common clearly defined standard becomes more and more important. Now, I want to introduce my favorite exercise partner – Fitbit, which are activity trackers, wireless enabled wearable technology devices. If you ask me why I introduce this product in this article, it’s designed for persona incisively and vividly.
Firstly, designer uses a very special rubber to make this wrist, giving it waterproof, stain resistant, hockey, and other functions. There are three different sizes for different wrists’ size. Even it is small, it has very strong function, it just likes your privately secretary, it can measure data such as the number of steps walked, quality of sleep, and other personal metric. Now, Apple watch is very popular, and almost anyone crazy for it.
However, compare with FItbit, I prefer to use Fitbit because it is more pure, and professional. I do not deny Apple watch is a new invention about technology, but I still like using Fitbit. In my experience, when I use this first, I can believe it is amazing. I feel very excited when the data show on the phone, which collected by Fitbit. I think it know much more about me than my mother. I always wear it when I am working, I can get any information about phones and message. It makes me fee like James Bound, and I can control anything. I am not afraid of anything hurts it, and it is not expensive, everyone can afford it.
Even though this is an age of science and technology process, I think digital devices must be build more pure and useful.
